- Make sure the concrete is free of any old or existing concrete sealers or coatings.
- Clean the concrete with cleaning solutions and/or a pressure washer and allow the concrete to dry completely for at least 24 hours.
- Using a roller or sprayer, apply 2 coats as suggested by the manufacturer.
- Allow the sealer to completely dry, and protect the concrete from getting wet for at least 24 hours after being sealed.

How To Apply a Concrete Sealer
Once the concrete is clean and has been allowed to dry for at least 24 hours, it can be sealed. How the concrete is sealed will depend on the type of concrete sealer used.
- Silicate Concrete Sealer: Silicate sealers are sealers designed to increase the strength and density of the concrete. They are great to use on weak and deteriorating concrete, or concrete that is showing signs of deterioration caused by surface abrasion, such as dusting. Silicate sealers can easily be applied with a sprayer to interior and exterior concrete surfaces. Silicate sealers will not change the look or color of the concrete and need to be applied only once.
- Silane Siloxane Concrete Sealer: Silane Siloxane sealers are the most popular type of concrete sealers. They reduce the absroption of water on the surface and help to reduce deterioration caused by that. Cracking, spalling, pitting, mold and mildew, and efflorescence are all reduced. Silane Siloxane sealers can easily be applied with a roller or sprayer to interior or exterior concrete or masonry surfaces. Silane Siloxane sealers will not change the look or color of the concrete and need to be reapplied every 7-10 years.
- Acrylic Concrete Sealer: Acrylic sealers are designed to enhance the look of the concrete and coat the surface with a low to high gloss finish. The acrylic sealer will protect the surface against staining and deterioration, and help to enhance dull or faded surfaces. Acrylic sealers can easily be applied with a roller or sprayer to interior or exterior concrete or paver surfaces. They need to be recoated every 1-5 years.
